UCLA Alumni Affairs, the UCLA Department of Economics, and the Academies for Social Entrepreneurship invite you to watch the 10th Annual UCLA Social Enterprise Academy Venture Showcase.
On Zoom, Thursday, May 28 from 5 to 7 pm
Ten teams representing local nonprofit organizations will be pitching their ventures. Watch the three finalists do their full presentations competing for $30,000 in cash prizes and help pick the Audience Favorite winner of $5,000. from seven other elevator pitches.
The showcase will also feature a keynote address by Patrick Maloney, Founder and CEO of Inspire which connects households to renewable energy.
ABOUT THE KEYNOTE SPEAKER
Patrick Maloney is founder and CEO of Inspire. A lifelong entrepreneur with more than 12 years of experience in the energy and technology spaces, Patrick is dedicated to building world-positive businesses that align profitability with purpose. He founded Inspire with the vision to answer the call of millions of consumers demanding action on climate change, by connecting them to the world’s first clean energy platform. Patrick is a nationally-recognized leader in the clean technology sector, having received numerous awards and accolades. He is a member of YPO, a premier global community of chief executives committed to leading the world’s most impactful organizations. For his outstanding vision and achievement, Patrick was honored as an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year in 2018. Prior to Inspire, Patrick worked as a venture capitalist and served on the founding team of two energy ventures, which were collectively acquired for $190 million.
